Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, SPAMALOT re-tells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Guided by the fabulous belting diva The Lady of the Lake, a diverse, cross-gender cast of heroic/foolish actors (and their assistant stage manager) battle their way past various cows, killer rabbits, and French people in pursuit of claiming the legendary Grail.

Monty Python’s SPAMALOT was a smash hit in both New York and London, and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. Now comes a production that re-defines the word ‘epic’. Really, really re-defines it.

The team behind 2018’s smash hit Calamity Jane bring their anarchic, immersive storytelling style to ancient England, embracing the satirical, home-made spirit of the original movie and the Monty Python TV series. This production was a sell-out phenomenon at Hayes Theatre Co in Sydney in 2019, so don’t miss out!

Reviews

“Inspired foolery... Joyously, inclusively gender-bending.” - The Australian

"If you are after an action-packed, hilarious, incredibly fun night at the theatre, Hayes Theatre’s new production of Spamalot is it… Directed here by Richard Carroll, the entire cast is simply brilliant.” - Daily Telegraph

“The laughter it delivers is fast and furious... The brilliant ensemble is tirelessly goofy, and highly inventive. It is a group completely dedicated to creating a high-octane electrifying experience, determined to pull us out of the mundane, for two hours of unbridled lunatic pleasure.” - Suzy Goes See

“A high-energy, inventive production... Director Richard Carroll and his exuberant cast have served up a comic treat... You might laugh. A lot.” - Sydney Morning Herald

“Hilarious… Director Richard Carroll gives the work a refreshing update.” - Broadway World

“The most absurd, ridiculous, joyful night of musical theatre going - One Eyed Man's production of Monty Python’s Spamalot has no right being such a damn good evening… It's a heartwarmingly brilliant night of theatrical silliness that will have you laughing all the way through… Spamalot is scrappy, minimalist and packed with surprises… This production breathes an unexpected amount of fresh air into the Monty Python canon – go see it.” - The Music

“Richard Carroll directs with a magic wand and casts a spell over the audience as well as the high-energy, multi-talented company. The joyous atmosphere created by apparently endless invention and nonsense is as infectious as the plague.” - Stage Noise
